New Boots

These are the latest addition to my shoe family. Please welcome them warmly. My boyfriend was wary of the color (which I find bright and unexpected) and their utilitarian tendency (which I consider a good counterpoint for feminine shapes/patterns and the layered bohemian thing that is so in right now).

Shoe blog? Why yes, I will.

Welcome to my blog. As a relatively intellectual feminist woman, it has taken me a while to embrace my inane and unmanageable love for shoes. I cannot explain it. Or justify it. Shoes do not fulfill me, but they do make me smile--and often feel like a badass. Since you're here, I'm assuming you share this devotion.

A little about me: I work in theatre and film, sometimes as an actress, nowadays as a dramaturg. I write a little, read a lot, and have my 'professional blog' over as http://theatre-smarts.blogspot.com

As far as shoes go, I'm a sucker for quirky. I'll usually take 'wow factor' over comfort or functionality. After than comes the concern for how a shoe will fit into my wardrobe. Oh, and I'm a poor and starving artist...which isn't necesarily a deterrent to my shoe purchasing habits. I try to stay within my vegetarian guidelines for buying synthetic--but I freely admit that I've made some gorgeous exceptions to this rule. I'm trying, though. Sometimes fashion doesn't provide for things like that, so you have to be inventive.

Enjoy.

And feel free to send me free shoes for review. Seriously.
